Question to Sir George Young on the Maldives
John Glen (Salisbury) (Con): Will the Leader of the House urgently make time for a debate on judicial reform in the Republic of the Maldives?
Translation: What the hell are we going to do to change the judges in Maldives in our favour? They are not doing what we want them to do and stand in our way.
Although the judiciary is constitutionally independent, sitting judges are underqualified, often corrupt and hostile to the democratically elected regime.
Translation: Although its non of our business, changing foreign judiciary should NOT EVEN BE DISCUSSED, is against the law, illegal and because they are supported by Maldivians they serve but they don’t agree with our dictator friend.
We can come up with something to help our friend the dictator Nasheed.
Sir George Young: The Under-Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, my hon. Friend the Member for North East Bedfordshire (Alistair Burt), is seized of this problem and is in touch with the Maldives President to see whether we can resolve the impasse.
Translation: Guys, we are already on this case. My friend is talking to Anni , giving him money and training, controlling the international media to make sure his dictatorship is not known to the world.
The high commission in Colombo is also engaged. We want to help the Maldives to make progress towards democratic reform in the direction that my hon. Friend the Member for Salisbury (John Glen) outlines.
Translation: We are also using all the region resources to suppress the voices of the people of The Maldives and make sure things go the way we want. To hell with the Maldivians and what they want, support Anni.

Finally help is on the way from the international community, precisely the United Nation and Forign Minister Naseem cannot deny it this time: The lonely life of a Dictator Mohamed Nasheed chose to impose on the Maldivian people hopefully will end now…

Yes the UN is coming. There is no denying that by the Foreign Minister and the MDP Dictatorship’s other body guards. The UN’s official website stated,
“3 February 2012 – A United Nations political team heads to the Maldives next week for talks on how to help support the Indian Ocean archipelago in its transition to democracy. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon’s spokesperson Martin Nesirky told reporters today that a mission from the UN Department of Political Affairs (DPA), headed by Assistant Secretary-General Oscar Fernandez-Taranco, is slated to arrive in the Maldives on 9 February. The mission will meet with Government officials, opposition leaders and civil society representatives to both discuss the current situation and identify opportunities to support the democratic transition, Mr. Nesirky said. In November last year UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay visited the Maldives and said the country had made “significant advances” during the first few years of its transition, but a gap still existed between the rhetoric and the reality on the ground…”
Dictator Mohamed Nasheed and his party; to consolidate his power and perhaps to rig the 2013 election easily came up with the idea that he has to take control over the Judiciary of Maldives. To do so as fast as possible, he ordered the Military to arrest Judges of the Judiciary, lock them up, suspend the judicial functions and withhold the salaries of the Judges.
As a man who bought Parliament members paying them millions of dollars from the state coffers; to change his party’s minority status in the parliament to a majority despite of country wide protests; Nasheed thought that his takeover of the Judiciary will be as easy as the Parliament.
However he has another thing coming. This time the protests against the Dictators attack on the Judiciary that started over 2 weeks ago will not stop. It has been going strong for a 3rd week. Meanwhile all the opposition, NGO’s of the country, every civil society organisation joined the protest and kept a vigil in the streets of the Capital Male’ protesting despite their fate having sealed with severe beating, pepper spray and gas attacks and mass arrests by a heavy handed Military and a Police force that only listens to Dictator Nasheed’s commands. More than 400 arrests were made over the last three weeks.
The Dictator and his uncle who is also the Foreign Minister ignored the repeated calls from his own people, spreading propaganda in overseas newspapers against the people calling them fundamentalists and also labelling the Judiciary corrupt even though there is not even a single case of corruption that they can pinpoint.
This meant the only solution to the problem obviously is international pressure against the dictator or at least advocacy by the international community that is non-bias unlike the British Conservatives which visited and spent time with the MDP party members and came back to UK to repeat Nasheed’s poor excuses to as why he is behaving like a Dictator worse than Hitler holding Judges under lock and key and also by saying that he will use force even if it means killing the people that are calling for him to respect their freedom and liberty.
Denying that there is no international pressure despite statements by the Canadian Government, the EU and many other’s the Dictator kept his assault on the people, and it was only last night former Amnesty International Prisoner of Conscience Sandhaanu Ahamaidhee suffered a heart attack and is still in the ICU after the Military attacked his face with excessive amounts of an unknown kind of spray.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the United Nation for listening to the pleas of the Maldivian people and take the initiative to come and help restore peace and stability in the country and we would like to appeal to the developed countries of the world as well as other’s to do the same instead of protecting their mistake.

Maldives Supreme Court should charge Dictator Nasheed and the Military with acts of terrorism, human rights violation in the kidnapping, arbitrary arrest, disappearance and solitary confinement of Judge Abdulla as well as the degrading acts carried out against peaceful protestors on a daily basis.

With Maldives Dictator holding Judges of the Judiciary hostage, in solitary confinement, and using the Military to attack, arrest peaceful protesters every night as well as withholding the salaries of the Judges of the Judiciary, the Supreme Court is facing immense pressure from Human Rights groups and the Maldivian people to charge Dictator Nasheed and the Military with terrorism and human rights violation. It is time the Supreme Court charge the Dictator and the Military that has become blind to their own acts of terror and intimidation.
Repeated calls to release Judge Abdulla by both domestic and international bodies have fallen on the deaf ears of both the Dictator that ordered the arrest, and the Military that carried out the act. There have been many other cases of unlawful arrests and injuries to civilians already lodged against the Maldives Military while Dictator Nasheed’s use of extra judicial powers to hold Judge Abdulla in solitary confinement for over 3 weeks denying him access to Justice as granted in the Constitution have been challenged and disputed by international human rights organisations as well as governments of the world, all of them advocating his release.
Abduction of Ghazi Abdulla by the Dictator and the Military that carried out his order is a politically motivated terrorist act. Therefore his family has also lodged a case against the Dictator while Vice President of the opposition party PPM, Umar Naseer has also lodged a similar case against the Military and Dictator Nasheed.
Cruel degrading inhuman punishments on the orders of Dictator Nasheed are being carried out by the Military on a daily basis since the disappearance of Judge Abdulla. Ex AG and previous SAARC secretary-general, she was dragged by the Military while protesting and her arrest with 7 other women were extremely violent. Similarly MP’s and opposition politicians that participated in the anti-government protests were beaten up so badly some of them were left disabled in wheel chairs.
The Law prohibits arbitrary arrest and detention of the Maldivian people. Dictator Nasheed arresting and responsible for the disappearance of Judge Abdulla is a gross violation of human rights that the Supreme Court should no longer overlook.
The Supreme Court should act now and charge both the Military and the Dictator for their atrocities against Judge Abdulla as well as their use of extra judicial powers to persecute and intimidate Dictators political opponents and peaceful protestors.

Maldives Dictator still holding Judges of the Judiciary in solitary confinement says unless he can sway the Judiciary his way he will not hold the Presidential election in 2013 and will never let the Judge or the Judiciary function. We call on the Military to stop their violent crackdown on protestors and retire to barracks and let people power prevail. This is it.

True to his words from MDP thugs to MP’s to Ministers have denounced the Judiciary and serious criminal cases involving them have been stalled. The Maldives Military is also behaving in the same way refusing to release the Judges they have taken hostage.
While meeting the Military and brainwashing them to sustain their attack, harassing, beating of the protestors that have been protesting for over two weeks against Dictator Nasheed’s illegal arrest of Judges of the Judiciary, he told the Military officers present that he intends to withhold the 2013 Presidential election until he is allowed to have his way with the Judiciary. In a leaked audio he was hard saying that he will never release Judge Abdulla and will never let him enter the Judiciary building. Neither will he obey the Judiciary, declaring the Judiciary of Maldives non-existent as far as he is concerned.
There is no civilian government in the Maldives since Dictator Nasheed came to power, always relying on the army to assert his rule declaring that he will go outside the Constitution to get what he wants. True to his words that has been how he’s been rolling as the President of Maldives. . Rule of law is disputed and challenged by his criminal gang called MDP, with his MP Thimarafushi Musthafa a known terrorist and an organised criminal refusing to appear in court in a case lodged against him for paying a million dollar debt he owed to someone in a bounced check.
It has been over two weeks since Dictator Nasheed ordered the Military to arrest Chief Judge of the Criminal Court Abdulla Mohamed. He has been held in a Military base without access to lawyers, without any outside contact whatsoever since his arrest.
The Maldives Judicial Service Commission, the Supreme Court, the Maldives Human Rights Commission, the United Nation Human Rights Commission and even the EU a huge supporter of the Dictator’s environment crusade have called on him to release Judge Abdulla or charge him with a crime. Of course as the Judge never committed a crime; he is unable to charge him.
His refusal to release the Judge and continuous unlawful arrest of opposition leaders meant the Maldivian people have protested on the streets for over two weeks. How this man thinks he can continue like this is beyond our understanding.
The people power rising in Maldives over two weeks has no impact on the Dictator unlike his predecessor who bowed his head down humbly and let the people have their way even though knew very well that they have been hoodwinked by this cunning treacherous coning man. Now the country corner to corner is regretting their mistake and wants Dictator Nasheed gone in seconds.
Holding of free and fair election in 2013 is the only hope and the only way that Maldives can revert back to a civilian government or as the Military controlled by a crony is not stopping and keeps on impose the will of the Dictator. It increasingly looks like the Maldivian people are truly stuck trapped in an abyss of lawlessness with the country in the hands of a criminal gang that has declared the most important separation of power the Judiciary; void.
We are calling on the international communities that have given deaf ears, to stop giving lip services and become more pro-active and arbitrate dialogues between the political powers of the country so that once again the people can breathe easy.

As predicted Anni (Mohamed Nasheed, current implanted president of The Republic of Maldives) continues to discredit and shame Maldivians in the International arena. How can such a small nation get on the headlines of the world’s leading newspapers, day after day? The headlines are old news but the intention of the news is clear; to put the people of Maldives to shame. One might ask how does Anni have access to the front pages of the international newspapers. The answer is logical. The news content is certainly no factual or at least accurate, so the motive can only be political. It’s a trick that is old and timeless. It is a deception of distraction from the truth so that the autocratic regime can continue its vengeance on its people.

The irony of the latest headlines is that Anni is at the very center of it.

Anni who is a well publicised cannabis addict and in favour of legalising drug use, dare to disrepute Maldivians internationally.
At this stage if you are a Maldivian your identity is revealed while abroad, you will be known as a fundamentalist, wife beating, drug addict.
Again you have to ask what MDP have to gain by spreading such rumours. They have to show the world what barbarians they are up against, what a hard time they are having trying to civilise us while distracting the international community at the same time. They are creating these distractions just in case the people abroad start to believe the real story last and last but not least this is what the UK conservative party has to do to keep their constituents in the dark.
Why switch to Australian newspapers from UK papers?
• They found a person (Ben Doherty) who could easily be manipulated.
• Maldivians are already watching the UK newspapers and commenting on them
• Australian newspapers still does not allow commentary by their readers so the truth cannot be revealed
• In this day and age, it does not matter which country you publish your news as long as it can be Googled and read by many.
I fear that if we scare the international community we will starve to death. As simple of as that. No ifs or buts and nothing more to add. I do not really care for any particular political party or person but I DO care about the people as a whole. Times are critical, the people are the answer and the solution and I only a watchman. I have no choice to leave you all to your fate as deserved.

Dictator Nasheed’s uncle who is the Foreign Minister of his Dictatorship says no international pressure, but United Nation made official calls on the government to release the Judges they arrested or charge him with a crime. The country remains lawless without a Judiciary with President withholding the Judges salary saying that they haven’t taken their Oath:Mad

The unlawful arrest of Judges of the Judiciary and opposition politicians with the Military taking Judges hostages on Dictator Nasheed’s order on and off since their Dictatorship have been the ruling culture of MDP and Dictator Nasheed. They thought Dictator Nasheed holding a Judge from the Judiciary hostage in solitary confinement will be endorsed by the internationally community; and they have boasted about how no international organisation or country has asked them to act lawfully.
Dictator Nasheed and his team were confident that the man’s PR success as popular environmental crusader internationally will fool the world to become blind to what a Dictator he is when it comes to his own people. But their woodworking is no longer paying off, although Dictator’s PR team has published propaganda in newspapers all over the world resorting to desperate lies. The Foreign Minister who happens to be Dictator’s own uncle was so confident that the international community will believe whatever lies they tell; went as far as sending a letter to the United Nation saying that they need help with sorting out the Maldives Judiciary. These MDP goons do not realise that no legal institution, NGO, particularly UN will never endorse, the illegal kidnapping of a Judge, taken off from his home in front of his small children, with the use of Military and held in solitary confinement for over 2 weeks now. Increasingly dictatorial and delusional with their unlawful violent acts against the Maldivian people so common, the MDP dictatorship received the following response and hopefully a wake up call to come to their senses.
A spokesperson for the United Nation according to AP said, “While acknowledging the challenges Maldives faces in reforming and strengthening its judiciary, we believe that Judge Abdullah should either be treated with due process, meaning he should be properly charged moved from military detention, and brought before a court, or released,” she said.
The article also said, “The military arrested Abdulla Mohamed, the chief judge at the Maldives Criminal Court, nearly two weeks ago after he freed a government critic who had been detained without a warrant. The government accuses of the judge of corruption and political bias but has not brought him to court for any offences. The vice-president, Supreme Court and the Judicial Service Commission, which inquires into complaints against judges, have called unsuccessfully for his release. The military has also ignored a High Court order to produce the judge for a hearing of complaints against him. The arrest has sparked daily street protests that has resulted in clashes between police and opposition activists”.

SAARC Secretary General until she resigned a few days ago and former Attorney General of Dictator Nasheed’s government arrested for participating in the anti-government protests.

It was only a few months ago Diana Saeed was hailed a hero for making the SAARC annual conference held in the Maldives one of the most colourful as well as successful one.
Diana a Lawyer by trade hurried to criticise Dictator Nasheed’s take-over of the Judiciary and his ordering of the Military to arrest, summon hold in solitary confinement Judges of the Judiciary as well as opposition politicians.
When president Nasheed got the Military to kidnap Judge Abdulla Saeed and hold him in solitary confinement against his will without access to lawyers in a Military base, Diana criticised the government and a day later she resigned.
Tonight according to her she was sitting peacefully participating in the protest, without uttering a word when the Military jumped her and unceremoniously arrested her.
Isn’t it time the international community stop this man’s runaway madness.
The country has been systematically landed into anarchy through creative chaos instigated implemented by Dictator Nasheed with his arrest of Judges, politicians. People are getting arrested, beaten up, and summoned on orders of the Dictator. It is stated that even tonight various leading members from the opposition were beaten up so badly, after taken into custody, straightaway, they were taken to hospital in critical condition by ambulances, one of them include Maaz Saleem.
Police officer in charge of arrest refused to make any more arrests because of the force used by the Military that conducted the arrests.
It was said that army officers wearing balaclavas inflicted a lot of injuries on protestors. Some people suspected them to be paramilitary force consisting of ruling MDP activists that were responsible for beating up and putting fire to journalists like Sandhaanu Ahamaidhee, and mistakenly one of their own from MNBC1 who is still fighting for his life in intensive care.
Diana’s arrest and the degrading punishment this woman who gave and gave to Dictator Nasheed until she resigned a few days ago shows that this mad runaway Dictatorship has to be stopped by all mean/methods possible and it has to be done by the international community, as domestically he had changed Maldives not only into a Police or Military state but a terrorist state, with the Military Police and his activists, on the attack, with dangerous weapons.
