The Capital Island of Maldives Male’ tonight is filled with protestors dissenting against the assault on freedom of the people carried out for two long weeks in this vicious manner. Tonight Sandhaanu Ahamaidhee, an Amnesty International Prisoner of Conscience was beaten up and burnt by the President and his ruling party Chairperson Reeko Moosa Manik’s bodyguards.
The man who boasted in his randy speeches that under him there will never be any political prisoners has taken the Deputy Leader of one of the main opposition parties DQP Dr Mohamed Jameel Ahmed into custody and people fear for his life after he has been taken to an undisclosed location in secret. This is the 4th time that Jameel has been arrested and his Lawyers working with the Judiciary were able to prevent him being held under Police custody for a prolonged time up until tonight. However tonight, the Supreme Court Judges that ordered his release has been arrested and taken into custody.
We are calling the international community to intervene immediately without delay and stop this assault carried out by this cunning dictator that has not only fooled us but the whole world. He is dancing on the people’s freedom, liberty their right to justice. Maldives had a peace loving populace that has lived in harmony for centuries until the arrival of the ruling MDP clan, but now every other day the man ban protests, arrest his opponents, get his ruling party thugs to stab journalists. This time it is going on for too long. We fear for the life of the Deputy Leader of DQP Dr Mohamed Jameel Ahmed and very concerned about the vicious attack carried against Sandhaanu Ahamiadhee journalist that once was an Amnesty International’s prisoner of Concise. If there is a United Nation, a UNHCR, an Amnesty International Please help us save our small tiny country and the people from this Dictator’s assault. Help from the international community is urgently needed to stop this anarchy instigated by Dictator Mohamed Nasheed
