More prisoners of Conscience: MDP and President Nasheed’s Dictatorship regime last night arrested 18 opposition supporters and the Vice Speaker of Majlis a second time last night after the Police knocked part of his house down to gain access.

Last week alone the Maldives Military made 9 arrests of the main opposition coalition supporters and kidnapped Yamin and they all remain prisoners of Concise persecuted for their political opinion. This week yet again last night, the Military made 18 more arrests including under age children. The Military that is taking opposition leaders and supporters into custody, following a hit list written and signed by the President is giving a deaf ear to the growing demand among citizens to restore civil rule in the country and to do their job for the Maldivian people, not for the dictatorial President, Nasheed and his violent ruling group.
Physically harming those who support the release of the opposition leaders, arresting them, kidnapping them, and holding them under solitary confinement has become the new job of not only the Maldives Military but also the Maldives Police Service. Both the Police and the Military follow the orders of the President as although they were previously made independent by the Former President the new President has taken control by making personal political appointments where the appointees order the forces to implement the whims of the President.
The President vehemently denies in the Presidents family run newspaper Minivan News that these kidnapped and in detention including Yamin taken by the Military at gun point, Vice speaker taken a second time last night Nazim are not prisoners of conscience.
However both leaders Yamin and Nazim, Yamin taken a second time at gun point and Nazim taken by the military after blasting his house and also the prisoners they are arbitrarily arresting and filling the prison cells with, for supporting the opposition are all prisoners of conscience. The main opposition leaders that are vocal and any noticed as a supporter are arbitrarily arrested and taken to prison, because of their political opinion.
The Human rights of these opposition leaders are abused, and supporters under arrest their right to justice denied by the President, and his Military, therefore the current government of Mohamed Nasheed and MDP is a Dictatorship, that are persecuting, victimising, and imprisoning Maldivian for their conscientiously-held political beliefs. There is nothing to say to it except that all of these held by the Military and the Police on the President’s command are prisoners of conscience.
We are calling the President and his Military to release all the Prisoners of Concise as once the news of his Dictatorship gets spread and that he has people locked up as prisoners of concise, they will not be interested in attending his environment and other stunts. The whole world will denounce him and he is already denounced by his coalition
